  Samantha Smith, MPH, CHES
Assistant Director of Health Promotion

Samantha joined UMBC in 2016.  She received a BS in Human Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013. Samantha went on to receive her Master of Public Health degree from Emory University in 2015. Samantha is currently working on her Ph.D in Public Health and the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to joining UMBC, Samantha work with the United States Army Public Health Center. Samantha’s areas of expertise are in public health program development, health education, and program assessment. Her areas of interest include: college health, sexual health, and research methods.

  Jackie Mungo, MSPH, CHES
Health Educator

Jackie joined UMBC in 2017. She earned her BS in Rehabilitation Studies with a minor in Psychology from Winston-Salem State University in 2012, and later completed her MS in Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2015. Jackie has previous health education experience in a college setting as well as experience in the non-profit sector in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. Her areas of interest include Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs, Sexual Health, and Interpersonal Violence Prevention.
